Hydrogen Cooler (Hydrogen Air Cooler)

Hydrogen coolers (Hydrogen Air Coolers) are commonly utilized in power generation plants for cooling hydrogen gas used within turbine generators. Due to the excellent thermal conductivity properties of hydrogen, efficient cooling is required to maintain generator performance, operational reliability and equipment longevity.

FRHE designs and fabricates hydrogen coolers utilizing finned tube heat exchanger technology to achieve effective heat transfer performance while maintaining compact equipment size. Our hydrogen coolers are designed to provide stable and efficient cooling performance under demanding operating conditions commonly found in power generation facilities.

Depending on the application requirements, hydrogen coolers can be supplied with various tube materials, fin materials and construction configurations to suit the operating pressure, temperature and cooling medium requirements.

The characteristics of our hydrogen cooler design include:

  • High thermal efficiency
  • Reliable operation for continuous service
  • Compact and robust construction
  • Low pressure drop
  • Resistance to corrosion
  • Long service life
  • Ease of maintenance and replacement

Applications include:

  • Power Plant Generators
  • Steam Turbine Generators
